Funds are made available from the parish’s General Fund, special gifts & projects and proceeds from St. John’s Thrift Shoppe. Recipients of these monetary grants are recommended by the Outreach Ministry and approved by Vestry. All organizations are individually investigated and monitored by the Ministry to make sure their needs meet certain outreach criteria. (In accordance with their By-Laws, the Thrift Shoppe funds are restricted to local charities). For the past several years, our parish has supported a “Feeding the 5,000” project which provides bags of groceries for local food pantries for the needy.
